Der Rotwein Cape Blend von dem Weingut Idiom eröffnet mit intensiven Noten dunkler roter Früchte, die an reife Pflaumen und saftige Schwarzkirschen erinnern. Dazu treten Anklänge von Red Velvet Cake mit feiner Kakao Assoziation und ein dezenter Hauch Tabak. Am Gaumen wirkt der Wein vollmundig und dennoch ausgewogen, getragen von einer dichten, fruchtbetonten Mitte. Die Tannine sind weich und seidig und geben Struktur, ohne den Fluss zu bremsen. Die mittlere Säure hält die opulente Frucht frisch und sorgt für einen anregenden Zug. Nuancen von Vanille und Gewürz aus der Fassreife fügen Tiefe hinzu, bleiben aber angenehm zurückhaltend.

Zusammensetzung:

40% Pinotage, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc

                                             

Cuvée Wein

Cuvées zählen mitunter zu den teuersten Weinen der Welt. Bordeaux-Weine aus Frankreich oder Premium Weine aus dem Anbaugebiet Rioja, in Spanien, zählen ebenso zu Cuvées. Außerdem sind die besten Champagner der Welt meist Cuvée Champagner, bestehend aus den Rebsorten Pinot Noir, Chardonnay und Pinot Meunier.


Aber was ist denn eine Cuvée überhaupt?

Grundlegend bedeutet Cuvée, das Mischen eines Weins aus verschiedenen Rebsorten in einem Gärbehälter. Auch das Verschneiden von Trauben, die aus unterschiedlichen Lagen stammen führt dazu, dass ein Wein als Cuvée bezeichnet wird.

 

Passt zu

Der Idiom Rotwein Cape Blend passt bestens zu saftigen Steakhouse-Cuts wie Ribeye oder Rump, zu Malay-Currys mit milder bis mittlerer Schärfe und zu gegrilltem Lamm mit Kräutern. Auch Schmorgerichte wie Rinderbäckchen, Burger mit gereiftem Cheddar, Pilz-Risotto oder Trüffelpasta harmonieren sehr gut. Gereifter Hartkäse wie Pecorino oder Gouda rundet ab.
