In Greece, sacredness manifested itself in very different forms, in centralised sanctuaries of one or more poleis, in private domestic cults and in extra-urban rural sacred places. There has been a debate around the early periods of Greek sanctuaries as to the question of continuity and discontinuity from earlier Bronze Age sanctuaries. This volume spans the period from the Bronze Age and Iron Age sanctuaries of Greece, Sicily and Lower Italy to the Archaic and Classical periods. In this way, the questions of continuity and discontinuity in the Greek motherland and in the colonial territories can be analysed comparatively. On the other hand, the question of how the often rich sacred landscape of the colonial territories in Magna Graecia and Sicily came into being is discussed. Urban and rural sanctuaries were fundamental elements of Greek presence. In addition, rituals and votive practices between the Aegean and Sicily are also considered. What role did nature and landscape play in the cult? What did ultimately lead to the monumentalisation of Greek sanctuaries? The papers emerged from two colloquia at Göttingen and Palermo in 2023.They addressed the questions of the "Development of sanctuaries from the Bronze Age to the Classical period in Greece, Magna Graecia and Sicily: continuity and discontinuity between materiality and cult" and the "Function of sanctuaries, monumentalisation and ritual".

Will not buy again
Size: 80P, Color: colored
We received the balls 5 days ago and so far our dog has destroyed a ball per day. At this rate, all the balls will be destroyed in 80 days. Not a good value for this product. We have other brand tennis balls that our dog has chewed on for months that have held up. We will not buy again.

good for light chewers
Size: 16P, Color: yellow
Decent number of balls for the price! Unfortunately, my dog obliterated half of the tennis balls within an hour, but I'm sure part of that is because he likes to carry more than one ball at a time and chew on them a little before dropping for someone to throw. Otherwise, they are super bright, making them easy to see in the dark or dark places. They have some bounce to them, which makes playing fetch a little more exciting. My dog loves balls, so he has no complaints other than they don't squeak.

Best frisbees I’ve found for an active dog
Pattern Name: Assorted, Size: 9" Pack of 5, Pattern Name: Assorted, Size: 9" Pack of 5
My dog is an ACD/Border Collie mix, so he is absolutely obsessed with anything that flies or moves fast. We’ve gone through a lot of frisbees over the years, and these are the ones I keep coming back to. They fly really well once you get used to them, and they’re soft enough that I don’t worry about his teeth or mouth the way I do with harder plastic discs. They also hold up surprisingly well considering how rough he is with toys. Mine get used constantly in the yard, at parks, and near the water, and they’ve lasted much longer than most dog frisbees I’ve tried. I’ve bought several packs over the years, but honestly most of the damage has happened because my dog likes to lay down and chew on them after playing fetch. If I leave one sitting on the ground too long, he’ll eventually destroy it. That’s not really the toy’s fault though. In some ways I actually like that they’re soft and flexible enough for him to comfortably carry around and chew on a little. Another thing I appreciate is that they’re washable. After a muddy or slobbery session I can just rinse them off and they’re good to go again. For an active dog that loves chase and fetch games, these have been excellent.
