About the work
Alice Channer was born in Oxford in 1977 and her sculpture and textile works relate to the relationships between the body and personal adornment and the three dimensional and the flat. As well as exploring the history of sculpture as a medium and the industrial and post-industrial materials that it can possibly encompass, Channer questions the role that clothing plays, in terms of both production and consumption, in a western late-capitalist society.
