Fun Fact: Anubias Frazeri is a cultivated hybrid between Anubias barteri and Anubias congensis. It is known for its broad, slightly elongated leaves and is favored in aquascaping for its lush, upright growth and durability.
Appearance: This plant features smooth, dark green leaves that are wider than those of most other Anubias hybrids. The leaves grow on short stems from a creeping rhizome, creating a bushy, upright form that can add fullness to any planted tank.
Habitat: Though a hybrid, its parent species originate from tropical West and Central Africa, typically in shaded, slow-moving freshwater habitats.
Aquarium Use: Anubias Frazeri is an excellent midground or background choice, especially in smaller aquariums where taller plants may overwhelm the space. It attaches well to hardscape and does not need to be planted in the substrate.
Care: This plant is extremely hardy and perfect for beginners. It grows slowly and does well in low-light setups. Avoid burying the rhizome, as it can rot if placed under substrate.
Propagation: Propagated by dividing the rhizome. Each piece should have at least a few healthy leaves and roots for best results.
Note: Anubias Frazeri is resistant to most plant-eating fish and rarely suffers from algae when kept under appropriate lighting. Its sturdy leaves and easy care make it a reliable, attractive option in nearly any freshwater setup.
