This product is designed for the treatment of hypothyroidism in dogs.
Active ingredient: Levothyroxine Sodium
Pack size: 250 tablets packaged in blister packs of 200mcg, with additional strengths available in 400mcg and 800mcg.
Indications for use: Avoid use in dogs with uncorrected adrenal insufficiency. Do not administer to dogs known to be hypersensitive to levothyroxine sodium or any of its other ingredients. Ensure a proper diagnosis of hypothyroidism through relevant testing.
The tablets are flavored for palatability. To prevent accidental ingestion, keep the tablets out of reach of pets.
Dosage: The suggested starting dose of levothyroxine sodium is 10 µg/kg of body weight given orally every 12 hours. Due to differences in absorption and metabolism, adjustments to the dosage may be necessary before achieving a full clinical response.
The starting dosage and frequency are just initial guidelines. Treatment must be personalized to each dog's unique needs, as monitored by the veterinarian. In dogs, the absorption of levothyroxine sodium may be influenced by food intake.
Therefore, maintain consistency in the timing of treatment relative to feeding each day. For accurate tablet splitting, place the scored side of the tablet facing up and press down with your thumb. To separate the tablet into two pieces, hold one half steady while pressing down on the other half. For dogs weighing under 5 kg, administer a quarter of a 200 μg tablet once daily, with careful monitoring by a veterinarian advised.
Storage: Keep below 25°C. Any unused portion of a divided tablet should be returned to the opened blister and consumed within 4 days.
