The poetry of Stephanie Sears is redolent with rich evocations of both the natural and made made worlds. From Anaho Bay, Polynesia, to the Himalayas to the Adriatic Sea, she writes with a sensual love of place, in language as lush and abundant as the landscapes she inhabits. Her poems invite us to slow down, to look and see, to fully experience the world and its people, and remain open to the possibilities of love and beauty and desire.

~ David Updike
Author of "Out on the Marsh" and "Old Girlfriends"

The poems of Stephanie Sears transport us to strange and exotic places Ñ islands in the Pacific, ancient houses in Umbria, fragrant meals in preparation. Once there, we discover "carmine and magenta entrails," "pink florets of frigate tuna," "celestial jellies supersonic eels," and elegant handstitched fuchsia leather gloves, "Never meant to be worn." The images in her poems are as sensuous to the eye and ear as they are to the tongue and touch. Allow these poems to accompany you on that long-distance trip you always promised yourself someday to take.ÊÊ

Perfect first shark book for littles
Format: Paperback
The book is super easy to read to my 4 year old son! He’s been really into sharks so I wanted something that was overpowered by facts on each page. This one is perfect! Each page has a different shark and the page do not have lengthy text but enough to still be educational. Keeps his attention and he’s able to learn a little bit about each shark. Perfect first shark book!

Great pictures and good information
Format: Paperback
Wonderful pictures allow my 3 yr old grandson to not only learn about many sharks , but good information as well. He can name the sharks , memorizing them perhaps, but yet has learned the distinct features of many from this book.

Surprisingly awesome
Format: Paperback
This book is awesome. I was pleasantly surprised at the detailed information inside considering its price. My kids are 2 and 5 and love looking at the pictures while I read the information to them. It’s not so overboard that my it’s over my 5 year old’s head but detailed enough to supply him with new knowledge. This is perfect to go along with our household shark obsession.
