He's certainly Nigeria's most famous musical export. His name itself conjures images of 70s Lagos. A metropolis awash in the jubilation that swept in after the 1970 armistice in the civil war between the Nigerian Army and Eastern Biafran secessionists. A capital city in the midst of transition. This is the environment in which Fela and his Africa 70 popularized the hybrid of highlife, jazz and James Brown style, big-band funk he invented: Afro-Beat. In Nigeria, his countrymen knew his music like Americans know Elvis. On foreign shores, a chosen few Westerners could claim to know the extent of Fela's genius. As a result, while music historians have filled books with references to the influence of Westerners on Fela's creation, little has been said about Fela's inspiration on others. Thus, our compilation begins. Fela's music, and that of his organization inspired musicians across the global village when Afro-Beat was new and novel. This compilation focuses on the music Fela inspired - whether by fellow Nigerians recording alongside him in the early 70s, neighbors in Ghana, then-modern Colombian cumbia ensembles inspired by the man who injected a new feel into the Yoruban rhythms that formed cumbia's base, Trinidadian steel bands or the select few organizations left that have maintained Fela's fury in the new millennium. This is but a cursory investigation into those inspired by Fela Kuti's genius, but it is unique: the first time that many of these tracks are not only offered a second chance for worthy introspection, but, in the case of many, the first time they're being issued full stop.

Simple upgrade that actually improves your setup

I didn’t expect much from a laptop stand, but this made a noticeable difference right away. It lifts the laptop to a much better eye level, which helps a lot with posture—especially if you’re working for a few hours at a time.
The build quality is solid. It’s aluminum, has a bit of weight to it, and doesn’t feel cheap. Once it’s on the desk, it stays in place. The rubber grips hold the laptop securely, and I haven’t had any slipping issues.
I’m using it with a MacBook Pro and it fits perfectly. There’s enough space underneath for airflow, and I’ve actually noticed the laptop runs a bit cooler compared to sitting flat on the desk.
Overall, it’s a simple product but very effective. One of those small upgrades that you end up appreciating every day.

It’s sturdy and I like the design. Seems pretty comparable to every other MacBook stand, but I chose this one for some reason and I’m happy with it. The height is not adjustable, so if you want that find another one.

Great computer stand

These stands are great. We now have two of them. My wife suffers from Carple tunnel syndrome and these stands lesson the effects when typing. They are stable and hold the computer securely.

Weighty and well designed

The Bestand Laptop Stand is a testament to quality and thoughtful design.
From an ergonomic perspective, this stand truly shines. It elevates my laptop screen to eye level, promoting better typing and viewing to reduce strain on my back and neck.
Another standout feature is the weighty and solid construction of this stand. It's crafted from a single piece of aluminum, which not only adds to the stand sturdiness but also gives it a sleek, modern look. The surface is spacious and accommodates laptops from 11 to 16 inches.
Both the weight of the stand and the silicone treads below and underneath the laptop, and on a metal lip in front, ensure that neither the stand nor the computer move around. The manufacturer claims a 66-pound load-bearing capacity for the stand, and I believe it. This thing is rugged.
The inclusion of a slot at the rear for cables to pass through is a small yet incredibly practical detail. It helps keep my workspace organized and tidy.
Three slots in the stand aid with heat dissipation and are yet another thoughtful design feature that cools my laptop during extended usage.
While the stand excels in many respect, one limitation is its lack of height adjustability. However, if height adjustability is important to you, you’ll find lots of other options for stands here on Amazon.
Bottom line: I like it. Chances are, you will too. The Bestand Laptop Stand is a nice blend of durability, functionality, ergonomic comfort, and attractiveness—all at a reasonable price.
