Asian Long Eggplant is a tender fruit-producing annual that is highly productive with a mature harvest within 65-90 days that continues well into fall.  Lovely drooping violet flowers are followed by long slim purple fruits that have best taste and texture when picked at 4-6" and a diameter of a finger or hotdog, when its sweet and mild without bitterness. Best grown in full sun and rich well-drained soils. 

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Keep soils moist.   Susceptible to wilt.  Hornworms, beetles, and cutworms can be an issue.  Eggplants are very sensitive to cold so do not transplant until the soil temperatures at night are consistently above 65F.  Cut with a knife to harvest to prevent damage.
