The oil tank water gripper acts as a sponge to soak up water from the bottom of the oil tank. It can absorb up to 500ml of water and will not remove any oil. This will help to prevent water from entering the burner and causing costly damage.

Oil and water do not mix and will always be found in separate layers. Oil is lighter so the water will always be present at the bottom of the tank. You can check for the presence of water by rubbing some water-finding-paste onto a dipstick and lowering it into your oil tank. The water gripper is suitable for small amounts or you may wish to opt for our water gripper - Large to remove up to 1.59 litres or you can call Pat on 087-2364500 for larger quantities of water as a pump will be required. This water gripper is 5.5cm in diameter. 

DIRECTIONS:
First tie the string of the water gripper to the lid of the oil tank. Once the string is secure, lower the water gripper into the tank, it is weighted so will lay flat on the bottom of the tank. Secure the lid of the tank. After a few days you can check your water gripper by gently pulling it up out of the oil tank, if the cage is full you can remove it and discard it according to your local authority waste guidelines. It can be left for several months in the oil tank safely absorbing water particles.
