Paul Metzger's choices of instruments involve strings and necks, but he is not content to leave them in their original state. On 1300, his ninth solo album and third for Nero's Neptune, Metzger performs on modified guitar and 23-string banjo. The first of the album's two side-long improvisations, Meend for Shaista, displays the earliest of Metzger's experiments in modification, a revamped Yamaha guitar first displayed on his 2005 debut. The instrument has evolved considerably since then. The neck is now covered in fretless steel, many sympathetic strings have appeared, and a ride cymbal has been attached to the bottom. Metzger applies a percussive string technique and an unorthodox flamenco approach with his right hand, while his gliding left reveals the hidden beauty between the notes. As the piece unfolds, Metzger accompanies himself on tabla while simultaneously playing the guitar; it is at times hard to believe the recording is a one-pass live improvisation made by a single player. On the second side, Death's Other Kingdom, Metzger breaks out his 23-string banjo. The banjo has extra strings added (including a zither-like spray of 13 fanning out over the drum head), with the skin and sides of the banjo utilized for percussive effect. The piece begins with a slow-burning bowed section. Metzger's bowing has evolved from single-note glissandos into a full-neck chordal style, showing impressive strides in development and refinement. Echoes of North Indian classical music, 12-tone music, and Asian musical forms inform his work. Once the bow is set aside, Metzger's dexterous finger-work and flat picking bring forth a thematic arc, building to blinding velocity as the piece comes to a climax. The cover of the album features the artwork of Metzger's paternal great-grandfather Max Kleiter, whose drawings appear in early issues of the German art nouveau publication Der Jungend. The piece dates from 1901, but is as timeless and singular in style as the music contained within.

~ Oily Skin Review ~ (Updated)

I haven’t seen any oily skin reviews of this product so I took a shot of buying it and trying for myself. Hopefully this review helps you.
I have oily combo skin. It is also sensitive and prone to breaking out. When I shook the product, as instructed, it was not a gel I was expecting. It’s kind of matte gel (almost like a primer), which I don’t like using matte products since it makes me even more oily and the texture of the gel is like a primer. Kind of greasy but soft. However, when rubbed into the skin all the way it surprisingly left my face feeling soft and not really greasy, and even though it’s suppose to be a matte finish, I think because I used my cerave moisturizer first, it left more of a satin finish. After a couple hours I was happy to see that my face wasn’t ridiculously shining! It had a nice glow, and my face (mainly in the T-zone) felt a little bit slippery which I’ll call a win because like I said earlier the product had a bit of a greasy texture so I was expecting to feel REALLY greasy but I didn’t. And another huge bonus is it did not cause me to break out!! Usually my skin with purge on day one of using something new and my skin did not!
If you have oily skin I would say try it IF you want to. The price is a bit too much in my opinion, I’d rather spend maybe $15 max on this product but honestly the results, for me, I think I would purchase it again. But oily skin responds differently for everyone so if you wanna try it, I’d say got for it. But if you don’t wanna risk it because of the price, honestly wouldn’t blame you for not trying it.
Update: So I have used this for I don’t know how long now. Imma say this much. For colder seasons, my skin loves it. For warmed seasons my face starts to feel extra greasy. Bought the Daily Face liquid, my skin loves it! Have not broken out from it, no white cast. Would recommend not using the gel during warmer seasons.

I was kinda surprised by the texture, I'd call it a dupe for super goop! Its got that sort of light balmy ish, matte, velvety type of primer feel to it. It actually works well on top of makeup or under it.

Oh boy. What a gem to find for super sensitive face skin. Clear, no irritation. Will be buying more. I thought it would be bigger the size because im going to Asia for 3 months. Nope small. Guess illnhave to buy 2 more of this amazing sunscreen. No white residue, no irritation. Goes on smooth and absorbs very quickly.

Best facial sunscreen I have used
Coola makes the best facial sunscreen, and I have tried many brands previous to using Coola. The texture is light and creamy without being oily, absorbing well and leaving no white residue. It does not clog my pores and nor cause those white bumps that last for months. Coola sunscreen works well to protect my skin from sunburn and from making more freckles and dark spots. It has no perfumy fragrance, much to my relief.
Once it has dried, I can apply concealer or powder over it. No oily streaks or caking of other make-up so I have no excuse to avoid wearing this sunscreen every day.
I have recommended Coola facial sunscreen to my friends who had laser dermabrasion. Their skin is more sensitive to both perfumed chemicals and sun exposure, and they have given good reports too.
