The fast maximum aperture supports strong low-light performance and depth-of-field control. The lens design is supported by a multi-aspect ratio sensor, allowing images to be captured natively in 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, and 1:1 formats without significant cropping.
For composition, the D-Lux 4 integrates a 3.0-inch LCD monitor with 460k dots, offering clear image preview and menu navigation. An optional external optical viewfinder can be mounted via the hot shoe for traditional framing.
Additional strengths include fast autofocus, a compact and lightweight body with a solid build quality, and intuitive manual control options, making it suitable for both creative and everyday photography.
