But contrary to that, the greatest dishonor we can give to a person, or God, is to reject and disobey their instructions. When we do that to God, God said that we Ôbring reproach on HimÕ and calls it Ôdespising His wordÕ (Numbers 15:30). Following PaulÕs writings, the church believes that salvation by grace and the keeping of GodÕs laws are mutually exclusive. Jesus didnÕt see it that way, he clearly and often called on us to keep GodÕs law and repent when we failed. The church has set JesusÕ instructions aside and devalued GodÕs commandments to suggestions, in order to embrace PaulÕs theology.
