Most Commiphora wightii in the market is from India or Iran. This wonderfully resinous Omani Guggul, or muqul azraq in Arabic, has a dark rich color with reflective jewels of amber throughout. It’s unburned aroma is more sweetly perfumed than one would expect from a Guggul. This resin could be ground and used “raw” for many applications such as infusing and scenting base oils for cosmetics or body products. When burned it’s identity is clearly revealed as the famous banishing fragrance of which it is well known. This is a beautifully luxurious resin.
