For ten days we had not known what ailed us. We had fled from the August heat and crowd of the Vorderrheinthal to the posting-inn below the Splügen pass; and here fortune had given us all the midsummer tourist can hope for—solitude, cool air and fine scenery. A dozen times a day we counted our mercies, but still privately felt them to be insufficient. As we walked through the larch-groves beside the Rhine, or climbed the grassy heights above the valley, we were oppressed by the didactic quality of our surroundings—by the aggressive salubrity and repose of this bergerie de Florian. We seemed to be living in the landscape of a sanatorium prospectus. It was all pleasant enough, according to Schopenhauer’s definition of pleasure. We had none of the things we did not want; but then we did not particularly want any of the things we had. We had fancied we did till we got them; and as we had to own that they did their part in fulfilling our anticipations, we were driven to conclude that the fault was in ourselves. Then suddenly we found out what was wrong. Splügen was charming, but it was too near Italy. One can forgive a place three thousand miles from Italy for not being Italian; but that a village on the very border should remain stolidly, immovably Swiss was a constant source of exasperation. Even the landscape had neglected its opportunities. A few miles off it became the accomplice of man’s most exquisite imaginings; but here we could see in it only endless material for Swiss clocks and fodder. The trouble began with our watching the diligences. Every evening we saw one toiling up the pass from Chiavenna, with dusty horses and perspiring passengers. How we pitied those passengers! We walked among them puffed up with all the good air in our lungs. We felt fresh and cool and enviable, and moralized on the plaintive lot of those whose scant holidays compelled them to visit Italy in August. But already the poison was at work. We pictured what our less fortunate brothers had seen till we began to wonder if, after all, they were less fortunate. At least they had been there; and what drawbacks could qualify that fact? Was it better to be cool and look at a water-fall, or to be hot and look at Saint Mark’s? Was it better to walk on gentians or on mosaic, to smell fir-needles or incense? Was it, in short, ever well to be elsewhere when one might be in Italy?

Absolutely wonderful
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 4)
The most beautiful, delicious smoked oysters I have EVER had, and I've been eating tinned smoked oysters since I was a child in the 90's. And South Korea had very strict laws regarding the sustainability and quality which go into the oyster farming, harvesting and processing, making these a conscious and clean pick, and where else can you get these beauties tinned in healthy olive oil?! Thank you Otter Kingdom!

If you like smoked oysters, you'll LOVE these
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 12)
These are absolutely the best smoked oysters I’ve ever had. There’s a subtle sweetness underneath that adds a pleasant balance to the smokiness, and the usual seawater “fishy” note is far less pronounced than in many other premium brands—which I find refreshing. No unpleasant aftertaste, either. And as shown, they’re huge! I think I’ve found my new favorite brand of smoked oysters. I don’t write reviews very often, but Otter Kingdom Premium Smoked Oysters definitely deserved the praise.

These are delectable oysters & love that they're in olive oil!
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 12)
Our family has been eating oysters for years, but this Otter Kingdom brand has to be the tastiest ever-- tender and flavorful-- Highly Recommended. Re: what a previous reviewer had posted: “These oysters come with a Prop 65 “Reproductive Health” warning on the packaging.” After looking into this Prop 65 warning, I found that most products that come from the ocean could have absorbed mercury, so this California Prop 65 label is stuck on a lot (if not all) of fish/seafood products. But each kind of fish/seafood has a different level of exposure. According to the LiveStrong website article: “Which Fish Has the Highest and Lowest Mercury Levels?” the seafood with the lowest mercury content includes: catfish, clams, crab, herring, OYSTERS, salmon, sardines, shrimp, tilapia fish, tuna fish, among others. These should be eaten no more than 2 to 3 times a week (most people stay within that guideline). It’s the larger-sized fishes that tend to have higher mercury content, so oysters are of no more concern than any other small fish. Just wanted people to not get out bent out of shape about this label. The State of CA has a lot of concerns to deal with-- like wildfire devastation caused by their policy to restrict water from flowing from the north of the state, so it would probably be better for them to focus on THOSE life-endangering issues rather than sticking all these "WARNING" labels on food products! Right?

I Love oysters
Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 4)
These oysters are very good tasting. I eat them with pasta and a few tablespoons of white Alfredo sauce. Yum yum. I've always liked oysters but I can't eat them raw anymore because of my immune system.

Stable, solid, and versatile!
Color: Black, Size: 8 Panel-176'' Wide, Color: Black, Size: 8 Panel-176'' Wide
Exceeded my expectations. Easy, but tedious to assemble. That said, it’s solid, well made, and will last. You can stand it up in a straight line without concern it will fall over. No need to fold it like an accordion for stability. Helped me separate my garage gym from the kids bikes, shelving, paint, tools, and typical garage stuff.
