You might not have come across Melbourne's Kane Ikin before, but he's far from a newcomer. A member of experimental duo Solo Andata, Ikin also released material on Taylor Deupree's influential 12k imprint, working with a variety of different sounds and elements over the last decade. Modern Pressure is a milestone for Ikin, written at a trying time that was the producer's hardest financially but most creative musically. Selling equipment to pay the rent, Ikin wrote track-after-track in quick succession to hone his skills, using the process as both a form of escapism and reflection. The resulting album is a mirror of this struggle, a collision of stomach-churning bass and searing percussion that overwhelms your senses, staying with you long after the music has subsided. Ikin manages to harness a variety of influences, folding the sound of early '80s industrial tapes and no wave with the relentless pulse of house and techno, the intense low-end of hardcore and the eerie mood of John Carpenter's most menacing soundtracks. It's an album with a defined narrative that looks to the past without ever losing sight of the future. A great set, well written would make a great gift too

These are really cute! It is a great way for a child to learn English OR Spanish. The way it is written and flows it could be used either way. The illustrations are very nice. My 4 year old daughter had me read all 3 twice in a row. At the end of each story they break down the pronunciations which was super helpful as well! No complaints and a good purchase.

Fun stories for my little Spanish learners!

Great set of 3 books for my entry-level Spanish learning kids who are 5 & 7.
The book of opposites is their favorite with a cute storyline. Everyone loves twins and piñatas!
They also love to repeat the instrument names in Spanish. la guitarra 🎸 el microfono 🎤

Bilingual Books that cultivate cultural connections

We absolutely LOVE the Si Sabo Kids collection. My son is obsessed with Street Vendors and I fear that without this exposure through books, he wouldn’t be exposed or know of the thrill of chasing down a paletero or buying flores fr your local flower cart.
With this new collection of La Plaza we were just as excited to flip through the pages!
What I love most is how the author’s honor Spanish and English in their text, but the exposure is to Spanish print first! This is very unique and purposeful for our younger generations.
You will not be disappointed. My little guy has me read these daily!

Amazing Bilingual Books for Kiddos!

We are obsessed with the Si Sabo Kids books! We got the first set of Street Vendors and now this is such a great addition. Our daughter loves these and reads them over and over. My husband is a spanish speaker but I am not, so this has been a great way to pass down spanish to our daughter regardless of whether you speak spanish or not. Plus, the case the books come in are so cute and stylish sitting on our bookshelf. Really makes a great present because it's a great set!
