Omega Black Dial Dress Watch – 1954 Oversize Ref. 2750 with Rare Sunken Indexes – Cal. 266 – Matte Patina Dial

We are pleased to present an exceptionally rare and architecturally beautiful mid-century Omega dress watch: the Omega Ref. 2750 in stainless steel, dating to 1954. With its clean oversized 35mm case, understated sub-seconds layout, and one of the most elusive dial configurations we’ve ever encountered, this watch is a purist’s dream.

A Dial of Character – Black Matte Patina with Sunken Indices

The standout feature of this reference is undoubtedly its original black dial, which has aged to a gorgeous matte charcoal patina. Unlike glossy reprints or refinished surfaces, this dial retains its original factory texture, with the soft, velvety matte finish developed naturally over time—a visual depth few modern pieces can match.

But most striking of all are the rare sunken indexes, deeply recessed into the dial plane with a sculptural, almost architectural presence. These applied elements catch light from within shadowed wells, creating subtle contrasts that shift as the watch moves. We have never seen this precise layout on another Omega Ref. 2750, making it a possibly unique or very low-production dial.

Form Meets Function

  • Case: Oversized 35mm stainless steel case with classic 1950s proportions. Lugs are strong and well-defined. Caseback bears a mysterious star engraving, possibly denoting a regional or custom-order variation.

  • Movement: Manual-wind Omega Caliber 266, from Omega’s esteemed 30T2 lineage—known for its durability, accuracy, and legendary engineering. Freshly serviced.

  • Crystal: Domed vintage plexiglass, clean and clear.

  • Strap: Hand-made Belgian leather strap, custom-fit and paired with understated elegance.

Serial & Date

  • Reference: 2750

  • Caliber: 266

  • Serial Number: 14 million range

  • Year: 1954

Why Collect This Watch?

This Omega Ref. 2750 is not merely a vintage watch—it is a masterclass in mid-century restraint and design detail. Its unusual matte black patinated dial with sunken indexes offers an uncommon mix of depth and texture, delivering a distinct visual presence on the wrist.

A true gem for collectors of black dial rarities, early Omega references, or anyone drawn to understated watchmaking with exceptional nuance.

Not new condition; not gift-worthy; no turn off switch
Format: Board book, Format: Board book
FIRST Biggest downfall is that baby can’t just turn the gears and look at the book. I see no turnoff switch and the slightest touch to the gears sets off rather loud/obnoxious and random sounds - clanging & moos in additions to choochoos. SECOND, not in new condition. I should’ve known this when I took the package out of the mailbox and it started clanging (batteries in). Scratches on the front cover; worn cover edges; not gift-worthy

Amazing value for the price - perfect for my 2 year old book lover!
Format: Hardcover
This is an amazing value! My 2yo loves books and princesses, and I am trying to work on her independence (and find screen free activities). She was able to figure out the reader on her own, and can easily follow along. Of course, she would rather I do it with her but we're working on it. The pages are very thin paper, but that's ok considering the price for 8 books. Just might want to keep an eye on little hands. The art work doesn't look cheap, and despite the delicate pages the books are good quality. The reader is cool, sound quality is meh but again, under $20. I wish the box didn't have display holes so it would be a better storage case, but even the cardboard is pretty good so I can make it work. I will definitely be gifting this and buying more for my girl because you cannot beat the value of this!
