Clematis in Dutch Blue has been designed by London based print maker Marthe Armitage who has built an unrivalled reputation as a master in the art of handblocked wallpaper.
The Clematis pattern has been carefully printed in England onto 'flexo papers' using water-based inks. The papers are created using rollers engraved with original Marthe Armitage Lino cut artwork. This method of print production preserves the texture of the lino blocks while producing a consistent pattern repeat.
The lampshade is made to order from my studio in West London. It will be lined in cream card and finished with a very dark blue cotton trim.
