In an oxygen-free environment, it fosters bacteria that utilize nitrate as a food source. Denimar-powder or Deniballs serve as the organic energy source for this process. The Nitratereductor NR Blue is a self-contained unit that can be seamlessly integrated into existing filter systems, or it can be positioned independently beneath the aquarium. Included with the unit are Deniballs and BactoBalls.
