Overview:
The Long Fin Albino Peppered Corydoras is a graceful and peaceful bottom-dweller, admired for its elongated, flowing fins, pale creamy-pink body, and ruby-red eyes. A selectively bred variant of the hardy Corydoras paleatus, this fish combines the classic albino coloration with elegant finnage, making it a striking addition to any peaceful community aquarium.

Origin:
This variety was developed through aquarium line breeding from the standard C. paleatus, which originates from cool, slow-moving waters in South America, particularly in Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina.

Feeding:
Omnivorous and enthusiastic bottom-feeders. Provide sinking pellets or wafers, along with frozen or live foods like bloodworms, daphnia, or brine shrimp. They also help clean up uneaten food but should not rely on leftovers alone.

Tank Mates:
Extremely peaceful and social, perfect for planted community tanks. Best kept in groups of 5 or more to promote natural schooling behavior. Ideal tank mates include tetras, rasboras, livebearers, dwarf gouramis, and other gentle fish.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 72–78°F (22–26°C)
  • pH: 6.0–7.5
  • Soft to moderately hard water
  • Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons
  • Use smooth sand or fine gravel to protect their delicate barbels and fins

Behavior & Personality:

  • Playful, peaceful bottom-dwellers that love to forage
  • Will occasionally swim to the surface to gulp air—a normal behavior
  • Long fins add elegance to their curious, active nature

Special Notes:

  • Hardy and beginner-friendly
  • Fins are more delicate—avoid sharp décor and aggressive tank mates
  • Enjoys dim lighting, leaf litter, and planted environments
  • Regular water changes and a clean substrate are essential for fin health
  • Will often spawn in home aquariums when conditions are right

The Long Fin Albino Peppered Corydoras offers a perfect blend of elegant looks, peaceful temperament, and low-maintenance care, making it an ideal choice for aquarists looking to add movement, grace, and utility to the bottom levels of their tank.

An excellent book...a must read!
Format: Paperback
Ruthie Gilmore's examination of California's prison-industrial complex paints a sobering portrait of the effects of the state's post-industrial decline in the past quarter century. Supplemented by numerous charts, maps, and statistics, Gilmore argues that the massive prison-building project that began in the early 1980s was rooted in earlier developments, namely the failure of the "welfare-warfare state" to absorb the numerous surpluses created by political and economic restructuring. Combining theory and historical-sociological analysis, this highly readable book is at once depressing and optimistic; it lays out the facts and guidelines for pursuing meaningful, antiracist struggles against the systemic dehumanization of immigrants, low-wage workers, and youths of color that continues to characterize U.S. political culture.
