3.2g CarnoSyn®, 350mg caffeine, layered shred-focused energy

Cellucor C4 Ultimate Shred is a high-stim pre-workout with a fat-burning twist, focusing on quick energy, lasting power through your session, and support during cuts. It's not about big pumps or simple daily use. The idea here is to mix a solid endurance booster, a smart caffeine setup, focus helpers for your brain, and branded fat-burners with absorption boosters. This creates a pre-workout that hits hard at the start but keeps going longer than those with just one type of caffeine.

The standout dose is 3.2g CarnoSyn® beta-alanine—that's the standard amount proven to increase carnosine in your muscles over time. Beta-alanine is the key building block for carnosine, which fights off the acid buildup from tough, oxygen-limited efforts. In real terms, it helps you push through the burn in high-intensity sets, intervals, sled work, circuits, or rep-heavy lifting. It's one of the best-backed ingredients for boosting performance in 1-10 minute bursts, with tons of studies behind it.

You get 350mg of caffeine total per scoop, which is a solid high-stim level that's backed by research for most people. The cool part is how it's delivered: some from fast-acting anhydrous caffeine for quick kick-in, plus zümXR® extended-release and delayed-release beads to keep it steady. Caffeine blocks adenosine receptors to cut fatigue, boost alertness, speed up reactions, and ramp up your drive to train. This multi-stage setup avoids the sharp drop you get from plain anhydrous stuff.

Alpha-GPC at 200mg and huperzine A at 100mcg make up the focus team. Alpha-GPC is a bioavailable choline don

Key Highlights

  • 3.2g CarnoSyn® beta-alanine — this is the full clinical dose that builds up muscle carnosine over time. Carnosine fights the acid that piles up in tough, air-limited efforts, so it's killer for repeated high-intensity sets, circuits, and intervals, not just easy cardio.
  • 350mg total caffeine — a real performance-boosting amount in the proven 200-400mg zone for energy and sharpness. For folks used to it, this cuts how hard the workout feels, tightens focus, and amps urgency without needing extra stims.
  • Multi-phase caffeine from anhydrous plus zümXR® extended- and delayed-release beads. You get quick startup from anhydrous, then a steadier vibe through the workout instead of the spike and crash from single-source caffeine.
  • 200mg Alpha-GPC plus 100mcg huperzine A — a smart combo for focus and connecting your brain to your muscles. Alpha-GPC provides choline to make acetylcholine, while huperzine A keeps it from breaking down fast, making the energy feel targeted, not scattered.
  • 50mg Capsimax® — a branded capsaicinoid at the studied 50-100mg level. It triggers TRPV1 receptors to crank up heat production and fat breakdown, with tech to cut the stomach burn you'd get from straight cayenne.
  • 180mg ginger extract with gingerols — a nice touch in a high-stim fat-burner. Ginger eases digestion, fights inflammation, and adds to the warm, body-heat feel without just piling on more jitters.
  • 50mg Oligonol® — a branded mix of lychee and green tea polyphenols for antioxidant support, better blood flow, and fighting fatigue. The dose is under the 100-200mg from new studies, so it's more of a helper than the star.
  • 5mg BioPerine® — spot-on in the clinical range for better nutrient uptake. Black pepper extract boosts how well other ingredients get absorbed, making the whole formula hit harder.

Who Is This For?

  • Bodybuilders and physique folks in a cut who need a pre to keep training fierce on low calories. The 350mg caffeine setup maintains drive and power, while 3.2g CarnoSyn® helps with hard sets when fuel's low and tiredness hits early.
  • Seasoned lifters in rep-heavy phases with short rests, supersets, and conditioning ends. It's made for workouts where muscle burn limits you, and beta-alanine shines in that 1-10 minute intense zone.
  • Early morning gym goers wanting fast energy without the crash from plain anhydrous pres. Anhydrous plus zümXR® extended- and delayed-release beads give a smoother ride through the whole session.
  • Working pros hitting the gym after long days who need energy and brain focus to crush it. Alpha-GPC plus huperzine A makes it feel task-ready, not just wired without direction.
  • HIIT and conditioning fans after a fat-burning formula that still works as a pre. Capsimax®, ginger, caffeine, and rauwolfia amp heat, sweat, and pace, not just fake energy.
  • Intermediate to advanced users who know their stim limits and want one scoop instead of stacking pre and burner. It packs energy, endurance, focus, and shred support together.

How to Use

Try half a scoop first if you're new to this or your stim use is low. Full scoop packs 350mg caffeine plus rauwolfia—real high-stim stuff, even for pros. Take 20-30 minutes pre-gym; that lets anhydrous start while zümXR® backs it up. Shake in 10-16 oz cold water for best mix; more water can mellow the stim and heat kick. Empty stomach amps speed and strength, light meal cuts any gut hassle from stims or spice. Don't stack with other high-stim stuff or energy drinks—this handles it. Pairs great with plain creatine and intra hydration, since those aren't here. No need to cycle beta-alanine, but take caffeine breaks if the buzz weakens. Store sealed in a cool, dry spot—powder hates moisture and heat.

What to Expect

Minutes 0-10: beta-alanine not kicking yet, but you might feel it settling and early alertness if stomach's empty. Minutes 10-20: anhydrous caffeine ramps up, clears your head, and beta-alanine tingles often hit from the 3.2g CarnoSyn®. Minutes 20-40: prime time for focus, drive, and the warm burn from Capsimax®, ginger, and rauwolfia. Minutes 40-90: zümXR® caffeine keeps things steady, avoiding quick drops. Days 1-7: energy's instant, but beta-alanine's endurance builds slowly as carnosine loads. Weeks 2-4: biggest change is better handling of repeated efforts from carnosine, while stim feel depends on your caffeine habits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much caffeine is in Cellucor C4 Ultimate Shred?

Each serving provides 350mg total caffeine. The formula uses caffeine anhydrous for faster onset plus zümXR® extended- and delayed-release caffeine microspheres to create a more sustained stimulation curve than a single-source caffeine pre-workout.

Is the beta-alanine in C4 Ultimate Shred clinically dosed?

Yes. It contains 3.2g CarnoSyn® beta-alanine, which is the standard clinical baseline used in research to increase muscle carnosine over time. That matters most for high-intensity efforts where acidity and muscular burn limit output.

Will this product make me feel tingly?

Possibly, and for many users the answer is yes. The 3.2g CarnoSyn® dose can cause paresthesia, the harmless tingling sensation commonly felt in the face, ears, or hands after beta-alanine use, especially if you are not used to full doses.

Is C4 Ultimate Shred more of a fat burner or a pre-workout?

It is a hybrid, but it leans harder into the shred side than most standard pre-workouts. You get real training support from 350mg caffeine and 3.2g CarnoSyn®, but Capsimax®, ginger, rauwolfia, and the overall stimulant profile clearly position it as a cutting-phase formula.

How strong is the focus component?

The focus stack is purposeful but not maximalist. Alpha-GPC at 200mg is below the 300-600mg range often used in athletic research, but pairing it with 100mcg huperzine A makes the cholinergic side more noticeable than the Alpha-GPC dose alone would suggest.

Can I take this with coffee or an energy drink?

That is generally not a smart starting point. With 350mg total caffeine already onboard plus rauwolfia, most users should count this as their primary stimulant source for the workout window and be cautious with additional caffeine from coffee, fat burners, or energy drinks.

Should I take C4 Ultimate Shred every day or only on training days?

Most people will use it on training days because of the stimulant load. However, the biggest cumulative performance benefit comes from the 3.2g CarnoSyn® beta-alanine, which works through ongoing carnosine loading, so daily consistency matters more for that ingredient than for the stimulant effect.

Is this a good beginner pre-workout?

No, not for most beginners. Between 350mg caffeine, layered release caffeine forms, thermogenic agents, and rauwolfia, this is better suited to experienced users who already know they tolerate high-stim formulas well.

What should I stack with C4 Ultimate Shred to complete the formula?

The best additions are standalone creatine monohydrate and a hydration or electrolyte product. Creatine complements beta-alanine by supporting phosphocreatine-based ATP regeneration, while electrolytes improve training quality and fluid balance without adding more stimulants.

How does this compare to a pump-focused pre-workout?

This product is not built around maximum vasodilation or skin-splitting pumps. Its identity is high-stim energy, endurance support, focus, and thermogenesis, so users primarily chasing huge nitric oxide-driven pumps may prefer a dedicated pump or performance formula instead.

Best toy, the end
Style: Sport, Size: 12in, Style: Sport, Size: 12in
Combined with the Max Glow ball, this is the best dog toy available on modern planet Earth. I have a burly 92lb. pit bull mix with highly developed prey drive, and she will chase the glow ball for hours if I let her. The tiny sport launcher (Sport 12M) is the best, because you can still throw the ball really far, but you can also slam the ball down a few feet away from yourself so it bounces up in the air and your dog has to jump to catch it, or you can throw it up really high so it bounces 15' away or so and your dog can jump to catch it. We sometimes have to play fetch in a pretty small area, so it's nice to have the small launcher for these games. The larger launchers aren't as fun in small areas. You can play the same games but it's trickier to throw the ball correctly. Also, the small launcher is a lot easier to carry. The small launcher fits in my dog-walk-stuff backpack (with the ball in the launcher so I don't have to dig for it later), but the big ones don't easily. The launcher also has a hole in the end so you can hang it from your bag or whatever with a carabiner. The big ones are too long for that in most cases, and swing back and forth. Also-also my dog loves to ask for the launcher, then when I give it to her she plays keep-away and it's adorable. The big launcher I have is harder for her to balance in her mouth, so she just lays down and chews on it until it gets taken away. She's chewed on all of the four Chuck Its we've owned, but she's only broken one (a big one), but that's because she got ahold of it when no one was home. The little one in my bag is totally chewed up but still works great. I think they're sturdier than the big ones. Except for the launcher she chewed into pieces, which was our fault, the only reason we've had to replace anything was because we lost it. Usually we keep the launcher and ball in the backpack so she can't get to them and so they don't get lost, so we rarely have to replace them. There is just not a better value in toys, and the startup price is really low. Once again I really recommend the glow ball! It doesn't get soggy no matter how wet the grass or the dog mouth is. It is fun to chase because it is slippery and it collapses when it's squeezed, so it pops out of the dog's mouth and flies away if they bite it at the wrong angle; it's really bouncy, and stays bouncy because it can't be popped; it whistles so you can usually hear it even if you can't see it; and it really glows enough for nighttime catch, even if you only have your cellphone flashlight to charge it up! UPDATE: I should have said, we have the 12M launcher, which means the handle is 12 inches long and it uses a medium-sized ball. The medium ball is 2.5 inches in diameter, so the launcher will fit regular tennis balls, too! But my dog won't play with regular tennis balls anymore because they aren't anywhere near as fun as the glow balls, and I think she doesn't like having gross sloshy muddy tennis balls in her mouth. I lost my short launcher awhile back and could only get a long one locally to replace it, which reminded me that you have to lean over a lot further to use the short launcher. So if you have trouble leaning over to the point that your hand is a foot above the ground, this may be hard for you to use. I wish Amazon would let us choose colors, because my old one was green, and the big one is orange, both of which are bright enough to see in the grass from far away, even at night. Still, best toy!

Highly recommend.

Love this. Dog sitting for a dog that loves to chase balls but my shoulder doesn’t like throwing them. Got this yesterday and it’s perfect. Real arm/shoulder saver. Seems sturdy and I was concerned that a standard tennis ball would not work. We tend to lose balls when walking because this lab insists on carrying the ball in its mouth. They work.

These are awesome and I couldn't play ball with my Dobermans without it!
Style: Sport, Size: 12in
I LOVE Chuckit ball launchers. We've been using for a around 17 years and we've only had to replace one. We have 2 active, energetic Dobermans and I throw like a girl and there is now way I can throw a ball very far. With the Chuckit, I can throw more than 80 feet! My dogs need a lot of exercise and using this ball thrower allows me to make that happen. Bonus is I dont have to pick up a snobbery ball :)
