ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

The true story of the murder that shocked Italy. A ruthless portrait of Rome's dark side.

"Colossal and disturbing, with vines of Truman Capote and Emmanuel Carrère."
Daniel Verdú, El País

In March 2016, in an apartment on the outskirts of Rome, two young men from a good family spent several days partying, getting pumped full of cocaine, pills and alcohol. They decided to invite someone over and after calling several friends who could not or did not answer, they found Luca Varani, a boy they hardly knew. They offered him drugs and money in exchange for sex. They had fun until they began to torture him and ended up murdering him with knives and hammer blows. He was 23 years old, he was the son of a humble family on the outskirts, a good kid who did the best he could. No one understood why they did it, there were no answers to such horror. From prison one of the murderers said that they "wanted to know what it felt like when killing someone." They were 28 and 29 years old: Manuel Foffo, from a family of merchants, and Marco Prato, a well-known in public relations of the Roman gay night scene, son of a university professor.

Writer Nicola Lagioia became obsessed with the case. He had just received the Strega Prize for his previous novel, the highest award in Italy, and he dedicated four years of his life to this story. He spoke with all those involved, with the friends and relatives of the three boys, got access to the investigation and the trial and came to correspond with one of the culprits. He plunged into the darkest Roman night and entered the inaccessible Roman bourgeoisie. The result is a capital literary chronicle: an investigation into human nature under the silence of the empty streets of the Eternal City.

"In The City of the Living there is the earthquake of what happens and what does not happen, of what comes without warning and is now irreparable and never ends."
Antonio Muñoz Molina, Babelia

Excellent comforter for tropical climate
Color: White, Size: King (104''x90'')
After moving from a colder state to Hawaii, we needed a cooler comforter for our bed. This one works like a charm! It's cozy and comfortable to sleep in for our climate, substantial enough that it feels like a proper comforter and not just another sheet. It has noticeably reduced sweating. We weren't quite sure about the grid-type pattern when we ordered it, but it looks great in place. It is a little short on the sides, but that hasn't been a problem.

Works very well!
It is made of good quality and has definitely helped with my hot flashes at night. Love the color. Soft and light weight. Only thing is it tends to slide off here n there but its no big deal.

The best comforter I've ever had. Like being wrapped in clouds.
Color: Light Grey, Size: King (104''x90''), Color: Light Grey, Size: King (104''x90'')
I've been suffering for a long time with night sweats due to menopause and have been experiencing insomnia. Even in winter, I sleep with a fan on. I would wake up several times during the night, alternating between feeling cold from being uncovered and hot from being under the duvet. Well, after much research on Amazon, I decided on this product, and it was the best decision I've ever made. I have no words to describe the comfort, the softness of the fabric, and how cool it keeps me. It's thin, but it's cozy and doesn't slip on the bed. Tonight I wasn't fighting a battle in my bed.It really is exactly as described in the product description. I slept without feeling hot and didn't even turn on the fan (my house's heating system wasn't on). I highly recommend it, especially for women going through menopause. It's worth every penny. I think I'll even buy another one in a different color...

Yeesss...
Such a lovely soft lavender! Cooling and soft and wonderful. I sleep hot and have night sweats (post menopause is a witch!), but this little comforter kept me cool and dry. I did notice that it wasn't effective with a top sheet underneath it. You really need it to be directly on the skin for the cooling effect. Besides this (and the price) I have no regrets. Will definitely buy again, if it goes on sale.
