Overview

At only 13 inches wide, the myTemp Mini CO2 is the smallest and most economical incubator for applications requiring CO2 gas control. Its small footprint makes the incubator ideal for use inside of biological safety cabinets, isolating sensitive cultures or for any laboratory simply trying to conserve bench space. With a thick layer of high efficiency insulation surrounding the chamber, the incubator is also ideal for transportation of cells. Once power has been disconnected, the incubator maintains temperature levels within 10% of the set parameter for up to 1 hour*. In addition each model includes a 12V vehicle power adapter for operating the instrument in a car, boat, etc.

Both temperature and CO2 percentage are digitally adjustable and displayed in real time on the large LED control panel. This panel also features a "Cal" function, for easy in-lab calibration of the temperature or CO2. In addition, humidity (up to 80%) can be added to the chamber by inserting the included (stainless steel) humidity reservoir.

The CO2 level is constantly monitored using dual beam infrared sensing technology. In the event of a drop in CO2 , audible and visual alarms are triggered, notifying the user of the error.

Despite its small size, the incubator features a relatively large 20L chamber with the capacity for flasks and bottles up to 2 liters. Two removable, stainless-steel shelves are included. The shelves are perforated to improve airflow within the chamber.

* If disconnected from the CO2 supply, CO2 percentage decreases by approx. 1% /30 min

FAQ

Are there any access ports on the MyTemp Mini CO2 Incubator?

No, the MyTemp Mini CO2 does not have any access ports.

Can a port hole be drilled in the MyTemp Mini CO2?

Yes, a port hole can be drilled on the left or right side through the wall and insulation, and Benchmark can provide instructions as to where a port hole can be safely drilled. They do not perform this modification in-house, so you would need to do it yourself, and it would void the warranty.

I see there is a black port-looking object to the right of the CO2 inlet in the picture showing the CO2 inlet port. What is that?

It is a CO2 sample port, which may be used to take a gas sample in order to verify the CO₂ levels with an external analyzer.

Is there a HEPA filter or similar filter on the MyTemp Mini CO2's CO2 inlet?

There is a particulate filter, but it is not a HEPA filter.

What type / size of tubing is needed?

The rear of the instrument will accommodate 4 mm to 6 mm gas tubing. It is included with purchase of the MyTemp Mini CO2.

Oily situation lol

Honestly how do you write a review of this product? I would have to run tests for years on multiple oils on various engines to do so. The value was good however and shipping was great

Works well. You need to drill a 3/8” hole
Appears to be well made, alignment bar slides in nicely. As stated, you need to drill a hole in the bar for the gimble bearing driver, the directions are not clear, what I did was before I take out the old gimble bearing, put an O ring on the bar close to the last step on the bar, slide the bar all the way in, then carefully slide the bar out, this marks the distance from the back of the gimble bearing to where the shaft on the outdrive bottoms out, move the O ring a 1/4” towards the stepped part of the alignment tool (this is so you won’t bottom out the alignment tool when driving the gimble bearing in) then slide the driver puck up to the O ring and use a 3/8” diameter transfer punch through the side hole in the puck to mark the bar. You need to drill a 3/8” diameter hole in the alignment bar, two V blocks, some clamps, and a drill press will make drilling much easier, after the bar is securely mounted and centered in the drill press, use a center drill, then 1/4” drill first, using plenty of oil, drill all the way through, then use the 3/8” drill, deburr both sides and you should be good to go. People complain that it doesn’t come pre-drilled, the reason is that not all out drives are the same so you have to fit it to the outdrive that you have. Fortunately, I have a machine shop at my house and have a jig setup with various drill bushings, but the method I described above should work for you. Just make sure you’re perfectly centered and secure before you start drilling.
