Giant Pink Black Eye Lionhead Ranchu Grade AA Carassius AuratusOverview
The Ranchu Goldfish, often heralded as the "King of Goldfish," is a charming and distinctive breed known for its unique, egg-shaped body and absence of a dorsal fin. With a broad, rounded back and a deep, curved belly, Ranchus come in a variety of colors, including red, white, and black. This breed is cherished for its elegant swimming style and friendly demeanor, making it a beloved addition to any freshwater aquarium.
Origin
Ranchu Goldfish have their origins in China, but they were further developed and refined in Japan, where they gained significant popularity. This breed has a rich history dating back centuries and is considered a symbol of luck and prosperity in many cultures.
Feeding
Ranchu Goldfish are omnivores and thrive on a diet that includes both plant-based and protein-rich foods. High-quality goldfish pellets or flakes should form the basis of their diet, supplemented with vegetables like peas and spinach, as well as occasional treats of live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp or bloodworms. Overfeeding should be avoided to prevent water quality issues and health problems.
Tank Mates
Ranchus are peaceful and social fish that do well with other goldfish varieties of similar size and temperament, such as Orandas and Lionheads. However, it's crucial to avoid housing them with aggressive species or fin-nippers that might harm their delicate fins and body.
Aggression
Ranchu Goldfish are known for their gentle and serene nature. They exhibit little to no aggression towards tank mates, making them excellent community fish in a species-appropriate setup.
Experience Level
Due to their specific care requirements and sensitivity to poor water conditions, Ranchu Goldfish are best suited for intermediate to advanced aquarists. Maintaining pristine water quality and a well-aerated tank is crucial for their health and wellbeing.
Water Parameters
- Temperature: 65°F to 72°F (18°C to 22°C)
- pH: 6.0 to 8.0
- Hardness: 5-19 dGH
- Water changes should be performed regularly to keep the environment clean and stable, as Ranchus are susceptible to health issues in poor water conditions.

Using geological and artistic reasoning to assess terrain/outcrops and sketch them realistically
Format: Hardcover
This book was surprisingly helpful in learning to see which featuers dominate a terrain and which details to ignore, which to focus on so that the scale and architecture are accurate. Handy for geologists, geographers and landscape artists.

Boggs jr. Review
Format: Hardcover
After reading several books on sedimentary petrology, this seems to be far away the best book of my list. Chapters on diagenesis are just delicious, both of clastic and carbonate rocks. Provenance, textures and structures are complete too, and sistematics are well organiced and complete. Very recommended, I choose Boggs Jr.
It arrived in great conditions without any problems.

Had to get this book for a class. Not the worst read and the material is dry but overall a good book.
