This cross is highly sought after for its hybrid vigour, making it significantly easier to cultivate than either of its parent species.
Key Visual Characteristics
- Pitcher Shape & Opening: Inherits the iconic vertical, forward-facing pitcher mouth and bulbous, egg-shaped body from the male parent, N. aristolochioides.
- Coloration: Displays beautiful "leopard" patterning and features translucent "windows" on the back of the pitcher.
- Size: N. merrilliana (one of the largest species in the genus) contributes a substantial increase in pitcher size, resulting in a hybrid that is much larger than a typical aristolochioides cross.
