De TOPEAK JoeBlow Roadie EX is de specialistische versie van de Urban EX serie. Waar conventionele pompen zich richten op luchtvolume, is de Roadie EX ontworpen om druk op te bouwen met onthutsend gemak. Zijn smallere stalen behuizing betekent dat je hoge druk kunt bereiken (tot 11 bar) zonder veel kracht te hoeven uitoefenen op de handgreep.

Het belangrijkste kenmerk van de EX-serie is behouden: de verhoogde manometer van 3,5 inch. De meter zit recht voor je en geeft je een nauwkeurige controle over de druk, wat cruciaal is op een racefiets waar een verschil van 0,5 bar het comfort en de prestaties ingrijpend verandert. Het SmartHead® balhoofd zorgt voor totale compatibiliteit zonder dat er handelingen nodig zijn.

Waarom zou je de Roadie EX boven de Urban EX kiezen? Als je voornamelijk op racefietsen met dunne banden rijdt (23mm tot 30mm profiel), dan is de Roadie EX iets voor jou. Er is minder kracht nodig om een hoge druk te bereiken. De Urban EX, met zijn bredere body, geeft meer lucht af, maar wordt moeilijker om boven de 5-6 bar op te pompen.

Is het compatibel met mountainbike ventielen? Ja, de SmartHead® is geschikt voor Schrader-ventielen (mountainbikeventielen). Maar omdat hij minder lucht per slag levert dan het Urban-model, moet je iets langer pompen om een grote mountainbikeband te vullen.

Is de manometer duurzaam? Ja, hij wordt beschermd door een robuuste composiet behuizing. De hoge positie beschermt hem ook tegen per ongeluk stoten met de voeten tijdens het pompen.

Kan de pompkop gerepareerd worden? Absoluut. Zoals bij alle JoeBlow pompen kun je vervangende afdichtingen of complete koppen vinden die een leven lang meegaan.

Make sure you know the difference of high back vs mid back versions

I got a little confused by the reviews since they mix the high back version with the mid back. I thought the arm rests were adjustable and the back had some lean. Apparently only the high back version. That said, it is very nice. Its at least a hundred less than what you'd get at an office depot and it is generously sized and very supportive and comfortable. The assembly was relatively easy, instructions could have been a bit better. The piece connecting the seat and back doesn't sit flush with the mount that attached to the legs which is weird but it feels sturdy nonetheless. Overall it's very nice and the design is really cool, it looks like a 70s race car style seat. Exactly what I was looking for basically. I sort of wish I got the high back version for the adjustable arms and the ability to recline but it is a work chair for me mostly so I guess it doesn't need to lean back, even if it would be nice if it did.
