Deze uitbreiding van Dominion komt met speciale bondgenootkaarten. Elke bondgenootkaart heeft zijn eigen eigenschappen, die je door middel van een dienstenfiche kunt activeren. De nieuwe koninkrijkkaarten geven je mogelijkheden om deze dienstenfiches te verzamelen. Daarnaast maken andere kaartsoorten een terugkeer in Dominion: Bondgenoten. Zo zijn er nieuwe duurzame kaarten, die na je beurt op tafel blijven liggen en zijn er voorgesorteerde kaarten, die van volgorde kunnen worden veranderd. NB: Dominion: Bondgenoten is een uitbreiding en kan uitsluitend gespeeld worden in combinatie met een opzichzelfstaande versie van Dominion.
