De Outpost serie van Rab is een reeks deken modellen lichtgewicht slaapzakken. De Tijk is gemaakt van Pertex Quantum en is gevuld met 650 cuin geimpregneerde eendendons. Normaliter is de gewicht warmte verhouding van een mummy slaapzak beter. Maar deken modellen hebben ook zo hun voordelen. Je kunt ze beter aan elkaar koppelen en je kunt ze ook open als deken gebruiken. Verder geeft een deken model wat meer bewegingsruimte wat voor sommige ook een must is. De Outpost 300 is klein in te pakken en prima geschikt voor in de rugzak of op de fiets.

Uitleg dons:

Er zijn verschillende soorten dons. Dons van ganzen, van gewone eenden en zelfs van eider eenden. Dit zegt echter niets over de kwaliteit van de dons.  De kwaliteit wordt uitgedrukt met 'cuin' of 'fillpower'. Dat is meting voor het uitzettingsvermogen van de dons. Hoe hoger de cuin waarde des te minder dons nodig is om een bepaalt volume te krijgen. En dat maakt een slaapzak lichter en kleiner in te pakken. 700 cuin eendendons is dus beter van kwaliteit dan 600 cuin ganzendons. De betere merken impregneren hun dons. Zogenaamt 'hydrophobic down'. Daardoor werkt de slaapzak minder als een vochtvreter en droogt hij sneller mocht hij nat worden. Deze slaapzak is ook nog gemaakt van 'responsible down' (RDS). Dat betekend dat de veren niet levend geplukt zijn en dat dat de dons traceerbaar is.

My dog is a big breed half pitt/Labrador so she did chew through one of them already. I play ball with her every single day but I DO have to take them away from her because she will destroy them. They do last just if you have an over zealous chewer do not let them keep them for long periods of time. They are a good value for the price. Buy them your dog will love it!

I don’t throw balls distance but right to her. This size and lighter weight assure even when Shazzy is spazzy w excitement, she’ll catch the ball mid air. The green balls are softer, and glow in the dark. In summer we can play well past dusk and I can see them! Her personality shows in the pictures. Playing ball is part of her. These balls are just perfect for her situation. Somehow they disappear, she loves making baskets, puts them in my tractor bucket, or my gardening bucket..then get put in burn pile, trash etc. I keep replacing them because she’d look day and night if we actually ran out!! 🙏✝️👍🏼👍🏼

Okay little puppy pee plate. But some diy may be required.

This little pup pee station is pretty good. With a little caveat. There's some pros & cons. Pros: The back splash wall is very helpful. Keeping pee from going off the plate. But only as long as the pup aims that way. Which is why the little upright tube thing is helpful. I suggest placing it in the middle as close to the back wall as possible. Which leads to another pro. The little stick thing. It's hollow. A trick to help encourage your pup to use this is to place something your pup has peed on inside of that hollow tube. Or, you can see a bit on some cotton swabs & put them in there. The scent encourages your pup to pee there. Another pro is that a medium size pee pad will go over the edges of the plate. You can either fold the pad in, or leave it overhanging to catch stray shots. Cons: It is a little small. So this will only work for the smallest of pups. Another huge con is the grate on top. It allows pee to go through to the pad. But, most pups will refuse to step on this thing. So you'll likely have to get some of that draining fake grass to place on top of it. So, in the end, it's functional, but you'll likely have to do some diy to get it there.
