Kwaliteit champagne van familiebedrijf Taittinger

Champagne Taittinger behoort tot de grote internationale merken van de Champagnestreek en wordt verkocht in meer den honderddertig landen. Het is het grootste familiebedrijf met Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger als eigenaar en hij deelt het vandaag de dag met zijn zoon Clovis en zijn dochter Vitalie die beiden naast hem werken in de dagelijkse leiding van het Champagnehuis. Samen creëren ze een hecht familie trio. Met de nadruk op de Chardonnaydruif krijgt het champagnehuis al jarenlang internationale erkenning door hun constante kwaliteit, finesse en elegantie. In de ondergrond van het champagnegebied zit veel kalk en ook de bovenlaag bestaat voor 75 procent uit kalk (krijt, mergel en echte kalksteen). Dit zorgt voor een goede afwatering en de kalk geeft de Champagne zijn specifieke smaak.

De Taittinger Prestige Rosé verblijft minimaal drie jaar in de kelders om haar bouquet ronder te maken en haar fruitige karakter te ontwikkelen. So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.
