De Amerikaanse hulst (Ilex 'Nellie R. Stevens') is een groenblijvende struik die bekendstaat om zijn uitstraling, winterharde eigenschappen en aantrekkelijke bessen. Deze cultivar is ontstaan uit een kruising tussen Ilex aquifolium en Ilex cornuta. Het blad is glanzend, donkergroen, met scherpe, stekelige randen. De cultivar kan een volwassen hoogte bereiken van 5 meter. De 'Nellie R. Stevens' bloeit in de maand mei met kleine, onopvallende witte bloemen. De bessen verschijnen in de herfst en blijven vaak in de winter nog zichtbaar, zij zijn giftig voor mensen, maar niet voor vogels. De Amerikaanse hulst gedijt het best in de zon of halfschaduw en heeft een voorkeur voor goed doorlatende, humusrijke grond. Deze hulst heeft doorgaans weinig snoei nodig. Lichte snoei kan in het voorjaar of na de bloei worden uitgevoerd om de gewenste vorm te behouden.

It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
