Learn how to create beautiful textiles by embroidering adorable little bears onto fabric with Tomomi Mimura! You have the option to turn your creations into drawstring bags, individual patches, or even tapestries. Tomomi's unique approach to embroidery using her mosaic darning technique can be applied to all sorts of things. Use it to mend garments or create stunning works of art - the possibilities are endless!
Tomomi will advise you on mosaic embroidery techniques and color schemes.
Use the finished textile to make drawstring bags, badges, tapestries, and other items of your choice.
This workshop kit includes a yarn pack containing 50 small rolls (!) of MIMSTER original yarn, printed pattern fabric, and a needle making it easy and fun to get started.
There'll be embroidery hoops for you to use during the class, but they are not included in the kits.
We have two different sessions, a morning or afternoon one.

About Tomomi Mimura
Tomomi Mimura is from the southern island of Okinawa and currently lives near Tokyo. She is an artist and a creator of darning-embroidery. Her 1st book “Darning-embroidery” (2021) and the 2nd book “Big darning-embroidery” has sold over 60,000 copies in Japan. We now also stock her 3rd book 'Embroidery sewed with the darning Stitch"
Tomomi came across mosaic tiles in Guell Park in Barcelona in 2019 and was inspired to explore colour matching and mixing in her darning. She made a toy bear with tiles of darning pieces and it became her 1st piece of “Darning embroidery”
She loves to see how each animal made by others has a unique expression and face making them all adorable.
Cancellation policy
A refund of payment for a class will be given for cancellations only if the spot can be filled by another student, minus a 10% admin fee. Please be considerate.
We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.
