This wonderfully detailed Heavy Relic specimen from the Fender Custom Shop combines the tuning stability and steadfastness of the hardtail design with the playability of a buttery smooth worn in neck with a compound radius board.

While a Stratocaster is traditionally loaded with a floating tremolo system, these
Fender Custom Shop 63 Stratocaster Relic models are fun to play, rock solid guitars. The heavy relic hardtail bridge is a string through body design anchored right into the top, with only 6 ferrules in the back like a Telecaster. 

This '63 Stratocaster features the 1960 style oval "C" profile with the finish taken right down to the wood up and down the whole playing surface of the neck.  1st fret depth is just a touch of 3/4" at .758" and it tapers to .950" at the 12th. The AAA rosewood, round lam fingerboard starts out at a 7.25" radius and flattens out to the modern 9.5" as you slide up the neck. Loaded with 21 medium jumbo 6150 frets, this guitar neck is beyond comfortable into "effortless" territory.

Pickups are Fat 60s with a reverse-wound, reverse-polarity (RWRP) middle pickup for hum cancelling in the 2 and 4 positions on the 5-way switch. The Strat Blender control allows you to blend in pickups for more tonal options and the Greasebucket Tone Saver keeps your highs intact as you roll down the volume. 

Finish is Nitrocellulose Lacquer aged Olympic White with the Custom Shop's secret sauce Heavy Relic recipe. The tortoise guard is lacquered and buffed for a vintage worn in look.
